The beeswax in the non-vegan versions of the massage and reflexology waxes is replaced with Japanese Sumac Wax, Sunflower seed wax, Hydrogenated Castor oil and Rice bran wax.

The scents are the same and they also keep their olive oil and vitamin E.

The consistency in the vegan version is as close to the beeswax version as possible, providing you with the same balance of slip and grip you expect. The only difference being the removal of beeswax!

Please note in the Vegan Reflexology Range - We only stock 100g tubs as a little goes a long way on the feet :) !

VEGAN UNSCENTED MASSAGE WAX

The Unscented Massage Wax has no essential oils in the formula, but in all other respects is exactly the same as the others in the range. The consistency, performance and viscosity is the same as the other Massage Waxes.

Unscented Massage Wax is popular with aromatherapists who love the Massage Wax, but choose to create their own blends for their clients rather than use our pre-blended massage waxes. It is easy to gently heat the unscented wax, stir in the essential oils of your choice, and let it cool where it will again move to the convenient semi-solid state. The wax melts at a similar temperature to chocolate.

It is also useful for therapists who don't want to use the blends as they prefer unscented mediums, and for schools and colleges who are teaching unqualified students and want to avoid essential oils in the teaching methodology.

However, our biggest demand for the Songbird Unscented Massage Wax is simply from those who prefer the massage waxes to other mediums, but don't want a scent in the treatment.

VEGAN SPORTS MASSAGE WAX

Sports Massage Wax is our most popular wax and is used by many therapists involved in Sports and Remedial Massage, as well as by many Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and sports professionals. It is one of the original waxes from New Zealand and has been used by professionals for more than 20 years. It is being used for massage work on players in Premiership football, international rugby, cricket, swimming, ice-hockey, softball, track athletics, rowing and on jockeys - and these are the ones we know about! It was also used at the last two Football World Cups and at the 2012 Olympics...

Another reason why therapists use the Sports blend, even those who are not practising Sports Massage, is that it has a lemony/leathery scent - making it neither herbal or floral and so excellent for use on male and female clients without the issue of a 'female' or 'male' scent.

The essential oils in this formula are Manuka (Leptospermum Scoperium) from the same plant as Manuka honey, and Lemon (Citrus limonum). We use a high quality Calendula Paste which we bring in from New Zealand. Hypericum (St Johns Wort) is also in Songbird Sports Massage Wax.

Manuka essential oil comes from New Zealand as well of course, and has a long history of use by the Maori people and is sometimes called the New Zealand Tea Tree Oil.

Songbird Sports Massage Wax is a blend which is an excellent pre and post event massage medium.

If you are looking for an even stronger grip, you could try the Fascial Release Wax, as it's similar in terms of ingredients, but has a stronger and tighter grip than Sports and is ideal for Fascial Release work and deep tissue work which needs a deeper, slower and more controlled performance.

VEGAN WOMEN'S BLEND MASSAGE WAX

Women's Blend is a balancing blend of essential oils which has proved very popular and is one of our biggest sellers.
The scent which is most likely to come to the fore when inhaling the blend is the Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) but this is balanced by the musky and regal Frankincense (Boswelli Carterii), which balances it out perfectly. It's this balance which makes Women's Blend really special.

Bergamot (Citrus Bergamia) has a citrusy aroma which is very pleasant and is one of the most uplifting of the essential oils and thus of great benefit in lifting the spirits.

The blend is meant to be balancing, and is synergistically created for this effect. All the essential oils used are associated with and are particularly relevant to women of all ages.

VEGAN LAVENDER MASSAGE WAX

Our Lavender Massage Wax is formulated with French Lavender Oil and is one of the most popular massage waxes. This is not surprising as it has been in popular use for a very long time and has been appreciated for its deep and calming scent through the ages. Whilst it is very well known for its scent, it never seems to go out of favour and is loved by men and women, making it a very versatile blend. It's cleansing properties also make it ideal for use as an all over massage wax and we now have the Lavender as a Reflexology Wax, as it is ideal for that purpose as well.

Our Lavender oil comes from the Drome, Vaucluse and Hautes Alpes region in France, it's high altitude and high quality!

VEGAN ORANGE SPICE MASSAGE WAX

Orange Spice is a citrusy and fun-filled Massage Wax, particularly as it has a very jolly scent and people always comment that it makes them think of Christmas - probably because of the orange in mulled wine and cakes. No wonder then that sales of the Orange Spice always peak during the winter!

Songbird Orange Spice Massage Wax is a good all round massage wax, being liked by both men and women. It is used by a variety of therapists and and is particularly good for those in training, like dancers and athletes. The Nutmeg, Cardomum and Clove Oils add the spice to the formula and they create a gentle warming effect, making it a useful warming massage wax if you don't want to go to the full heat of the Warming and Easing Balm.

Orange Spice, probably becauseof the citrus nature of the essential oils, tends to be the softest massage wax, and some people prefer this in terms of spread during the massage. It is rich, luxuriant, spicy and of course full of citrus aromas.

VEGAN TEA TREE & MINT REFLEXOLOGY WAX

Reflexology Wax was developed in 2005 in response to requests by many Reflexologists who asked us for a minty, fresh version of the Massage Wax they were using for Reflexology. There was also a request that it be slightly tighter in terms of consistency for use in Reflexology treatments. It took a while and many consultations with various parties before we finally came up with what is now the Reflexology Wax in its various blends.

Tea Tree and Mint is used both as a refreshing Foot Massage and Reflexology medium. The essential oils are Spearmint, Peppermint and Tea Tree. Both Spearmint and Peppermint are cooling, cleansing and stimulating, whilst the Tea Tree is a well known anti-bacterial and anti-fungal essential oil which balances the formula and helps cleanse the feet during Reflexology treatments.

In terms of performance, the wax is thicker than the Massage Waxes, so that it gives the correct amount of grip/slip ratio for Reflexology treatments.

One of our more recent Reflexology Waxes is that old favourite - Lavender. Because of its properties, it makes an ideal oil to use in a Reflexology Wax. As usual, we have made sure that we have a good quality oil that we like in it. It is from the Drome, Vanclause, and Haut d'Alps area and is a quality controlled oil (High Altitude).

Of course, Lavender is antiseptic and astringent - qualities needed in a Reflexology Wax. But what is also important is the fresh and aromatic scent of pure Lavender

I bought these to save on washing my face test covers and I’m delighted with them as so much softer than assumed. They sit well on top of the face cradle and keep my linen clear of make up! Love them.

Not a pirate ship!

I needed a treatment table that is robust enough to take heavy athletes whilst still being portable when required. So far the Earthworks Perform has fitted this remit.
The aircraft grade aluminium frame looks and feels robust, whilst still looking stylish.So far no creaking or squeaking like an old pirate ship!
There is a face hole at one end and a face cradle at the other.This means that the table can be worked from both directions e.g. an athlete leg treatment can use the face hole,whilst a shoulder/neck treatment is better suited to the face cradle.This should create even wear across the table over time.
There is also a racheted lifting backrest at the face hole end which can be used on clients that need to sit upright or for assessments.
The easy push/press adjustment on the legs is far better that messing with fiddly screw tight knobs.
I have only had this table for a few days and do far it is probably one of the best portables I have used for ages.
I must also mention the excellent customer service after care.Chris was very understanding with a problem on another table and showed real empathy to the needs of a therapist.
