How To Make Your Practice A 5 Star Experience

The new year is just a few short days away, and here at Massage Warehouse it’s got us thinking.

Just as we all try to ‘get better’ this time of year - jumping on the fitness bandwagon, and vowing to eat more vegetables and floss every night - so is it a great time for our businesses to get a little revamp.

Over the course of the year, maintaining your enthusiasm for your work can become difficult. There are bills to pay, customers to find and manage, locations and equipment and tools that have to be sourced.

It gets tiring, doesn’t it?

Unfortunately, it’s often your practice that suffers. While you might still be giving your clients excellent treatments, the creativity and ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking just isn’t there, because all your energy is going to just making it to the next appointment.

And it’s that energetic creativity that allows you to grow – to offer treatments that really ‘wow’ customers, to increase your customer database, to make more money and have more freedom while you do it.

So that’s where a little outside motivation comes in.

Why not take some inspiration from high-end spas, whose sole purpose is to give clients the most luxurious, relaxing and rejuvenating experience possible?

Here we’re going to cover just a few things you can do to make sure your practice thrives in 2015, by offering the best possible experience to every client:

Firstly, make sure that your massage table is in great condition. An uncomfortable table will ruin the experience for every client, no matter how many other bells and whistles you have. If your massage table is due to be replaced or is no longer suitable for your treatments, you can see a range of new massage tables here.
Always go for one that has thick, plush upholstery and padding so that your client is as comfortable as possible.

Secondly, choose towels and sheets that are really thick and soft. You want every part of the treatment to feel luxurious, and thin, worn-out towels and sheets will really get in the way of that. Choose options that have high thread-counts and are very soft to the touch.

Next, add a soothing element to every treatment. Get an aroma diffuser so you can gently scent the room, and take a small Wi-Fi or Bluetooth speaker so you can play calming, beautiful music throughout the treatment. You can offer your clients 100% cotton eye masks to help them relax even more, and in the colder months, sheep skin table and face rest covers ensure every client stays cosy throughout the treatment.

Finally, use non-greasy oils so the client doesn’t feel sticky at the end of the treatment, and offer them warm towels to wipe down with afterwards. Finally, offer a spritzer spray with essential oils to revitalise the client and bring them back to an energetic state after the treatment.

All these tips can be used in both fixed-location and mobile practices. Giving your customers the most luxurious treatments possible in 2015 will ensure repeat business again and again, while consistently bringing in referrals.
