Many massage therapists have a personal preference for the type of oil they use in their day to day practice.

This preference might be based on the smell, the texture, how easily absorbed into the skin it it, or even how easily it will come out of the sheets in the wash!

Some treatments call for specific oils, particularly in spa and reflexology therapies were essential oils have a key role to play.

However, for many treatments, anything goes when it comes to the type of oil you use. Common choices include sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and grapeseed oil. Then of course there are specially formulated lotions and ointments made from a range of ingredients.

Unfortunately, it’s easy to run into problems with each of these options.

They all have very distinct scents, and allergic reactions to nut oil, seed oils and particular fragrances are not uncommon.

If any of your clients are very sensitive to smells, these oils and lotions will really hinder their treatment, rather than helping. The same is true if they have sensitive skin, allergies, or are affected by particular chemicals.

Providing your clients with a relaxing and effective treatment is the whole focus of your practice, which is why we recommend using unscented oil as frequently as possible.

Choosing an option like the Melrose Unscented Massage Oilguarantees that all your clients will get all the relaxing, restorative benefits of your treatments without any unwelcome side effects.

This oil is a stabilised blend of coconut oil, sunflower oil, fractionated coconut oil, and Vitamin E, using proportions of each ingredient that combine into a completely neutral smell. It’s one of our most popular oils, leaving your clients’ skin feeling nourished and soft, without any stickiness or drag during treatment.

Melrose Unscented Massage Oil is already one of our best sellers, with more and more therapists coming back for more after they try it out!
